This month's Sleeping Beauty is a local Biddulph lass. Akasha The Dark is a 24 year old student studying for a Masters in Sustainability and Environmental Management at Staffs uni (say that with a few pints in you). She is also a member of locally based alternative talent promoters Dark Arts.
 
(SWM) Hello Akasha the Dark! Feeling dark today?

(ATD) Hi, there is always a darkness within me, as i am intrigued by the dark side of life and love horror and gore.

(SWM) I’m guessing your name is inspired by Anne Rice’s character, are you a fan of the series?

(ATD) Yes my name is inspired by Anne Rice's character, and yes I am a fan of her Vampire Chronicles and New Tales of the Vampires; the idea of vampires and vampirism fascinates me. I'm collecting and slowly working my way through the books at the moment. 

(SWM) So, what does a gal like you do for fun?

(ATD) Well, I enjoy going scuba diving, and i'm having fun learning to play the drums. I love going out to my favourite pub and club for a good drinking and dancing session, and I enjoy going to gigs and festivals. Also, I occassionally do alternative/gothic/fetish/gore modelling for fun, as I enjoy helping to create art through photographs.

(SWM) How would you describe yourself?

(ATD) I would describe myself as a hard working, ambitious and nature loving person, who is passionate about metal music and is addicted to getting piercings and tattoos.

(SWM) Any favourite bands at the moment? I’m going back through a System of a Down phase!

(ATD) I'm loving the new albums by Disturbed and Opeth at the moment, but my all time favourite band has to be Metallica, so i'm really looking forward to their new album being released soon.

(SWM) So, Miss Worlds have to make up a load of rubbish about how they would change the world. Alternative models should be the same! What one thing would you change in this crazy world of ours?

(ATD) Well, with me being an environmentalist and a conservationist, I would have to say i would stop our world's destruction and overexploitaiton of nature.
