Submission Guidlines:

SWM accepts a very small amount of submissions from freelance writers. We have to be stringent in checking for quality, but we welcome writers to submit to us since we want to get all angles of the scene in the mag somewhere.

Send submissions by email only, to mav@sleepwalkersmagazine.com

Please read our articles before submitting; your article will have to fit the style of the magazine. Send articles in Word format attached to an email with your details, word count and sources where applicable.

Word counts of approx 500 are the standard, larger articles are accepted. We want gig reviews, game reviews, fashion, lifestyle, you name it.

Above all, have a sense of humour wherever possible!

Sleepwalkers Magazine is an online publication aimed at the Stoke and Staffordshire alternative community.

First and foremost, SWM is a focal point- a place where people can go to learn about local news, check out photos, read reviews of gigs, speak to each other and so on.

Our aim is to provide both a forum and a source of information that will serve the community and lead to more collaboration and strength in the small but thriving alternative scene in Stoke-on-Trent. The magazine free to read, and we encourage our readers to put something back in the forum of feedback; send us letters, use our market space and our forums. If you email to tell us all about an upcoming band, then we can get onto finding out who they are and making sure everyone knows.

Despite the online format SWM is still a professional publication and strives to produce truthful information and a variety of entertainment. Music can be listened to, there are videos to watch, and aside from reviews and news there are regular features. These include Dear Wolf, a section where readers can send in their worries to our resident agony uncle, a classified ad section called the Black Market, episodic fiction and more.

We want to help promote bands and venues in the area to strengthen the community and show that Stoke has a lot of talent. We want to inform people about local events and provide commentary and advice regarding social issues, consumer products and nightlife. The choice of name should make it clear that anything happening after dark is in our domain. We invite Stoke-on-Trent to join us in the mosh pits and on the dance floors, keeping the nightlife alive and subculture cultivated.

No excuses, and no rest for the wicked.
